Billy Rogers is an enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe and has been working in Native
North America since 1983.
Billy’s vision and leadership were instrumental in establishing the native wellness
movement in the 1990’s. His message of incorporating a holistic approach to a healthy
lifestyle and embracing a balanced philosophy of living resonated with native people.
Billy is a nationally recognized speaker, trainer, and facilitator. He has done work
for over 400 tribes in the US and Canada, in addition to numerous government agencies
Prior to beginning Native Workshops in 2006, a limited liability company, he founded
and directed the Native Wellness Institute for 5 years. Before that, Billy worked
at the University of Oklahoma for 17 years. There he initiated and directed an award
winning national native health promotion/wellness program.
He has also been a university instructor, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
He has degrees in psychology and public health. Billy has published several articles
dealing with native lifestyles and family systems.
